The
Betrayal of Jesus
John 18:1-9
1 When Jesus had
spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over
the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he
entered, and his disciples.
Matt 26:36 Then cometh Jesus
with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the
disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and
pray yonder.
Mark 14:32 And they came to a place which was named
Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples,
Sit ye here, while I shall pray.
Luke 22:39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to
the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
2 Sam 15:23 And all the country wept with a loud voice, and
all the people passed over: the king also himself passed
over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over,
toward the way of the wilderness.
2
And
Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus
ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
Luke
21:37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple;
and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is
called the mount
of Olives.
22:39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the
mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
3
Judas
then, having received a band
of men and
officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh
thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
Matt 26:47 And while he yet
spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a
great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief
priests and elders of the people.
Mark 14:43 And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh
Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude
with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the
scribes and the elders.
Luke 22:47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and
he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before
them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
Acts 1:16 Men and
brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled,
which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before
concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
4
Jesus
therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him,
went forth, and said unto them,
Whom seek ye?
5
They
answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them,
I am
he.
And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6
As soon
then as he had said unto them, I am
he,
they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7
Then
asked he them again,
Whom seek ye? And
they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8
Jesus
answered, I
have told you that I am
he:
if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
9
That the
saying might be fulfilled, which he spake,
Of them which thou gavest me have I lost
none.
John 17:12 While I was with
them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou
gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son
of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
