John
1:19-28
19 And this is the
record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from
Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
John 5:33
Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
20 And he confessed, and
denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
Luke 3:15 And as the people
were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of
John, whether he were the Christ, or not;
Acts 13:25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom
think ye that I am? I am not
he. But,
behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of
his feet I am
not worthy to loose.
21 And they asked him,
What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou
that prophet? And he answered, No.
Mal 4:5 And when they were at
Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of
the Jews: and they had also John to
their minister.
Duet 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a
Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto
me; unto him ye shall hearken;
22 Then said they unto
him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that
sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23 He said, I
am the voice of
one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the
Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
Matt 3:3 For this is he that
was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of
one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the
Lord, make his paths straight.
Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert
a highway for our God.
24 And they which were
sent were of the Pharisees.
25 And they asked him,
and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not
that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26 John answered them,
saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among
you, whom ye know not;
Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you
with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is
mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he
shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and
with fire:
Mal 3:1 Behold, I will send my
messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the
Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even
the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold,
he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
27 He it is, who coming
after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am
not worthy to unloose.
Acts 19:4 Then said Paul, John
verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto
the people, that they should believe on him which should
come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
28 These things were
done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
Judges 7:24 And Gideon sent
messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down
against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto
Bethbarah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered
themselves together, and took the waters unto Bethbarah and
Jordan.
John 10:40 And went away again beyond Jordan into the place
where John at first baptized; and there he abode.
