Three Wise Men…
Written by Carl A Davenport
Inspired by God

Where did the tale of three wise men come from? The Bible says there were three types of gifts given by the Magi, not three Magi. There is nothing in the Bible that says there were three wise men. They were called 'Magi.'

Do you think that only three people looking for the Messiah could come into city the size of Jerusalem and cause the town to be turned upside down? Do you think three men could make a King to get upset? Just three? Maybe three hundred or three thousand, but I don’t see three men causing this kind of impact.

I heard this myth came may have come from the Hallmark Card Company because they could only 'nicely' lay out the picture on their Christmas Card with three wise men on it. It would not be able to portray the meaning they wanted with three thousand.

The Messiah had been announced in the scriptures for over a thousand years. Do you believe that only three people came when they heard He was born.

Do you think this could be another attempt created in our times to minimize the importance of Jesus?

NOTE: That is the same Hallmark Card Company that is printing gay wedding cards today.
