Reading the Bible is not to be used only so you can  have a huge inventory of biblical knowledge. There is much more in the Bible than that. You can memorize the Bible forward and backward and inside and outside, but it is only something you know. It does nothing for you other than make you proud and knowledgeable of the Bible. Man will say you really are sharp on the Bible. If you are not applying it to your life, you have received the reward of man, a pat on the back.

When you apply to your life what you learned in the Bible, and when your heart changes, you have began your forward progress. You will soon have the reward of God.

Outward change, applied because you think it will make you look more religious in the eyes of man is not change, its only play acting what you read in the Bible, not living the Bible, you are a Pharisee.

Reading the Bible should cause a change in your heart. Any change from God comes from the heart. God deals only with hearts. Any change not from the heart is not from God.  Its from your other daddy.

Whatever you are preoccupied with is where your heart lies.
