By living as a living sacrifice and not tending to worldly needs you will become closer to being like Jesus. When you choose the spiritual side of the spiritual warfare you will need to become more spiritual. To be spiritual, you have to let go of things people do to anger you.

If you react negatively, you are not denying your worldly or fleshy attitudes, they are in control. All your lusts and all your superfluities are worldly. Once you have given them to God, they are gone. There is no more reacting to them. They are not yours anymore. You gave them to God.  If you take them back from God, and you allow yourself to react to any one of them, the floodgate will open and you will soon be flooded with reactions to all the worldly issues again. Be not deceived, God will not be mocked. You will be forgiven, but you will also reap what you have sowed.
