Consequences of Not Waiting… Inspired by God I am learning to wait on God. What seems to be good for me is not always good. When I jump into something because it seems to be just what I need, it usually does not work the way I thought it would. This is because I made the decision, without asking the advice of my Father. When I don’t wait for God, I find turmoil. He allows me to wallow in turmoil while teaches me to wait on Him. He protects me in my turmoil until I learn the lesson He is teaching me, and then He sets me free to repeat another similar process of impatience as part of my teaching. He teaches me using consequences as the motivator. Without some type of consequence system as a motivation, I would run through everything, not learn anything. But, though they are not gentle, His consequences don’t kill. They have a mental effect in my spiritual realm similar to what a scorpion would have in my physical areas. After a couple of good spiritual stings I learn to avoid doing what caused the sting and learn to do what He tells me to do. This teaches patience, and I desperately need these kind of teachings. The method of His teaching is the same for everyone, but the effect of consequence is based on individual tastes. What stings one does not necessarily sting another, but whatever stings the most motivates the best. |
