Captivity…

Do you learn when you are in captivity, or do you lapse into many of the same sins over and over that put you in captivity. Stealing, sexual activity, adultery, idolatry, hardened hearts, and other sins will do one of two things. They will bring you into captivity or keep you in captivity.

You are in captivity because your sins have made you their prisoner. That’s the curse of sin. It holds you until it can make you its prisoner. When your sins make you their prisoner you will repeat the sins over and over. They become your lifestyle, or better put your lifestyle revolves around them.

Your sins put you in a dark tunnel and you can’t see light at the end of the tunnel until you realize that your sin put you in this tunnel. The light is there, you are just so covered in sin that you can’t see it. After you travel deep into the tunnel, when you cant see light in front or behind you, your sins become obvious to you. You realize you are in this tunnel because of your sins. When you realize your sins out you here, a light appears to you at the end of the tunnel. You can only see it. Its far far away. You can’t get into that light until you travel all the way through the darkness of the tunnel of sin. You have to repent to reach the light.
