BONDAGE
Written by Carl A
Davenport
Inspired by God
Bondage sneaks up on us. We fall
into it. When we do something we shouldn’t, whether
we know
it to be right or wrong, bondage soon follows the
act. Each time we repeat the act it becomes
more a part of us. Soon, we are a part of it and it
controls us. We become locked into this act and
it becomes very difficult to get out. The more the
bondage sets itself, the tighter its grip. Soon it
is strangling us and we don’t know how to stop it.
We are in full bondage. We are controlled by
it and we live for it. Everything else becomes less
and our bondage becomes more.
We cry out to others about our
bondage. They try to help, but we will not give up
our bondage.
They move on and leave us in our bondage. We have
become defenseless with this bondage.
When we fight it, it tightens its grip on us. When we
become so tightly controlled by our bondage
that we cannot do anything else but what our bondage
demands of us, we are lost. We have
become a non-functioning part of society and pay
attention only to the needs of our bondage.
We feed
our bondage all it can eat.
When we realize and believe this is not the way
God intended us to live, we will begin to do
something about
it. We will fail over and over until we are
convinced we cannot live outside
our bondage. We will become desperate to get out of
our bondage. That
is
when we cry in repentance to God, and beg for His help. His help is the only
help that can
relieve us of our bondage. When we cry in repentance to God, and He has
determined we have had
enough, He will free us of
our bondage. |
