Freedom breeds responsibility. One without the other is not complete. When you receive freedom from the captivity of your sin, you gain the responsibility to live by Freedom’s rules. Freedom is not free. It cost your Savior His life and it will cost you everything you  dearly loved about your captivity.

If you love the attributes of your captivity too much to give them up, don’t ask the Lord to for His freedom. It's the opposite. You have to select and live by one or the other. You can’t serve two masters.

The trouble with captivity is that most of us are living in it and don’t recognize it. We go on committing the same sins over and over and enjoying the benefits for the short season of utopia they provide. But, when the utopia wears off, we are addicted to them and become their slave serving only them, over and over until destruction is set in motion.
