Proverbs Chapter 11



1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

Lev 19:35  Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.

Duet 25:13  Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.

2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Prov 16:18  Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

Prov 13:6  Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Ezek 7:19  They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

Zeph 1:18  Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

Gen 7:1  And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

Eccl 10:8  He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

Prov 10:28  The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

Prov 21:18  The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

Esth 8:15 And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

Prov 29:8  Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

Lev 19:16  Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.

Prov 20:19  He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

1 Kings 12:1  And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king.

15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.

Prov 6:1  My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,

16 A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.

Prov  31:30  A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;

17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

Matt 5:7  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

Hos 10:12  Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

Prov 16:5  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Psalms  112:2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

22 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

Rom 2:8-9
8  First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
9  For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Psalms 112:9  He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

2 Cor 9:6  But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Matt 5:7  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.

Amos 8:5-6 
5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?

6 That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?

Job 29:13  The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.

27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

Esth  7:10  So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.

Psalms 7:15-16   
15  He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
16  His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

Job 31:24  If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

Mark 10:24  And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

Luke 12:21  So
is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

1Tim 6:17 
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Psalms 1:3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Jer 17:8  For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

Eccl 5:16  And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Dan 12:3  And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

James 5:20  Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

Jer 25:29  For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
