Chapter 15
1 A soft answer turneth
away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
Prov 25:15 By long forbearing
is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.
1 Samuel 25:10 And Nabal answered David's servants, and
said, Who is
David? and who is
the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that
break away every man from his master.
2 The tongue of the wise
useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out
foolishness.
Prov 12:23 A prudent man
concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth
foolishness.
3 The eyes of the LORD
are in
every place, beholding the evil and the good.
Job 34:21 For his eyes
are upon the
ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
Heb 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not
manifest in his sight: but all things
are naked and
opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
4 A wholesome tongue
is a tree of
life: but perverseness therein
is a breach in
the spirit.
5 A fool despiseth his
father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is
prudent.

Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son
is the
heaviness of his mother.
Prov 13:18 Poverty and shame
shall be to him
that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof
shall be honoured.
6 In the house of the
righteous is
much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
7 The lips of the wise
disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish
doeth not so.
8 The sacrifice of the
wicked is
an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright
is his
delight.
Isaiah 1:11 To what purpose
is the
multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am
full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed
beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of
lambs, or of he goats.
Jer 6:20 From the sole of the foot even unto the head
there is no
soundness in it; but
wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not
been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with
ointment.
Amos 5:22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat
offerings, I will not accept
them: neither
will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
9 The way of the wicked
is an
abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth
after righteousness.
Prov 21:21 He that followeth
after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness,
and honour.
1Tim 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and
follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love,
patience, meekness.
10 Correction
is grievous
unto him that forsaketh the way:
and he that
hateth reproof shall die.
1 King 22:8 And the king of
Israel said unto Jehoshaphat,
There is yet
one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of
the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good
concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the
king say so.

are before
the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of
men?

is naked before

as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous
is made plain.
