Matthew 2:1-10
Now when Jesus was born in
Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold,
there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he
that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in
the east, and are come to worship him.
Luke 2:4
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of
Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is
called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage
of David:)
1 Samuel 16:1
And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for
Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel?
fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse
the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his
sons.
Luke 2:6
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were
accomplished that she should be delivered.
3 When Herod the king
had heard these things, he was troubled, and all
Jerusalem with him.
4 And when he had
gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people
together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
2 Chron 36:14
Moreover all the
chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much
after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the
house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
Malachi 2:7 For the priest's lips should keep
knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he
is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
5 And they said unto
him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the
prophet,
6 And thou Bethlehem,
in the land of Judea, art not the least among the
princes of Judea: for out of thee shall come a Governor,
that shall rule my people Israel.
John 7:42
Hath not the
scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and
out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I
will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall
reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in
the earth.
Mic 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though
thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet
out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to
be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been
from of old, from everlasting.
7 Then Herod, when he
had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently
what time the star appeared.
8 And he sent them
to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the
young child; and when ye have found him, bring me
word again, that I may come and worship him also.
9 When they had
heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they
saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood
over where the young child was.
10 When they saw the
star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
