Repent ye For the Kingdom of
Heaven is at hand
1 In those days came John the
Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom
of heaven is at hand.
and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came
unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
And he came into all the
country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance
for the remission of sins;
These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where
John was baptizing.
4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism
of repentance for the remission of sins.
The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God
is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
And in the
days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a
kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom
shall not be left to other people, but it shall
break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall
stand for ever.
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to
Repent: for the kingdom
of heaven is at hand.
And as ye go, preach, saying,
The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he
that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice
of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the
Lord, make his paths straight.
voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the
way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for
The voice of one
crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord,
make his paths straight.
As it is written
in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The
voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of
the Lord, make his paths straight.
He said, I
am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make
straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
And thou, child,
shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt
go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
4 And the same
John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle
about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a
skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;
2 Kings 1:8
answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a
girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is
Elijah the Tishbite.
And it shall
come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall
be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied;
neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive:
these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the
bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind,
and the grasshopper after his kind.
1 Sam 14:25-26
And all they
of the land came to a wood; and there was honey upon
26 And when the people were come into the wood,
behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his
mouth: for the people feared the oath.
5 Then went out to him
Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about
And there went
out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem,
and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan,
confessing their sins.
Then said he to
the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O
generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the
wrath to come?
6 And were
baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of
repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe
on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ
And many that
believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
