Pharisees Decide Jesus' Fate
John 11:47-54
47 Then gathered the
chief priests and the Pharisees, a council, and said, What
do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
Psalms Ch 2
1
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a
vain thing?
2
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the
rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against
his anointed, saying,
3
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away
their cords from us.
4
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the
Lord shall have them in derision.
5
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and
vex them in his sore displeasure.
6
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said
unto me, Thou art
my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8
Ask of me, and I shall give
thee the
heathen for
thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth
for thy
possession.
9
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou
shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed,
ye judges of the earth.
11
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with
trembling.
12
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish
from the way,
when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed
are all they
that put their trust in him.
|Matt26:
3
Then assembled together the chief priests, and
the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace
of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
Mark14:1
After two days was
the feast of
the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests
and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and
put him to
death.
Luke 22;
2
And the chief priests and scribes sought how they
might kill him; for they feared the people.
John 12:
19
The Pharisees therefore said among themselves,
Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is
gone after him.
Acts 4:
16
Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that
indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them
is manifest to
all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny
it.
48 If we let him thus
alone, all men
will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away
both our place and nation.
49 And one of them,
named Caiaphas,
being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye
know nothing at all,
50 Nor consider that it
is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people,
and that the whole nation perish not.
John 18:
14
Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the
Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the
people.
51 And this spake he not
of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied
that Jesus should die for that nation;
52 And not for that
nation only, but that also he should gather together in one
the children of God that were scattered abroad.
Isaiah 49:6
And he said, It is a light thing that thou
shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and
to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee
for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my
salvation unto the end of the earth.
I John 22:
2
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not
for ours only, but also for
the sins of the
whole world.
John 10:
16
And other sheep I have, which
are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall
hear my voice; and there shall be one fold,
and
one shepherd.
Eph 2:
14
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and
hath broken down the middle wall of partition
between us;
15
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity,
even the law of
commandments contained
in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man,
so making
peace;
16
And that he might reconcile both unto God in one
body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17
And came and preached peace to you which were
afar off, and to them that were nigh.
53 Then from that day
forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
54 Jesus therefore
walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a
country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim,
and there continued with his disciples.
John 4:1,3
1
When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees
had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than
John,
3
He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
John 7:1
After these things Jesus walked in
Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews
sought to kill him.
II Chron 13:19
And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and
took cities from him, Bethel with the towns thereof, and
Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns
thereof.
