Art
thou the King of the Jews?
John 18:32-40
32 That the saying of
Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what
death he should die.
Matt 20:19
And
shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge,
and to crucify
him:
and the third day he shall rise again.
John 12:32-33
32
And I, if I
be lifted up from the earth, will draw all
men
unto me.
33
This he said, signifying what
death he should die.
33 Then Pilate entered
into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said
unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
Matt 27:11 And Jesus stood
before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art
thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him,
Thou sayest.
34 Jesus answered him,
Sayest thou
this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
35 Pilate answered, Am I
a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered
thee unto me: what hast thou done?
36 Jesus answered,
My kingdom is
not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then
would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to
the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
1 Tim 6:13
I give thee charge in
the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and
before Christ
Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good
confession;
Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of
heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and
the kingdom shall not be left to other people,
but it shall
break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall
stand for ever.
Dan 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a
kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should
serve him: his dominion
is an
everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his
kingdom that
which shall not be destroyed.
Luke 12:14 And he said unto him, Man,
who made me a judge or a divider over you?
John
6:15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would
come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed
again into a mountain himself alone.
8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
37 Pilate therefore said
unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered,
Thou sayest
that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause
came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the
truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
John 8:47 He that is of
God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear
them
not, because ye are not of God.
1 John
3:19 And hereby
we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our
hearts before him.
4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us;
he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the
spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
38 Pilate saith unto
him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out
again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no
fault at all.
Matt 27:24 When Pilate saw
that he could prevail nothing, but
that rather a
tumult was made, he took water, and washed
his hands
before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of
this just person: see ye
to it.
Luke 23:4 Then said Pilate to
the chief priests and
to the people, I find no fault in this man.
John 19
4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them,
Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I
find no fault in him.
6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him,
they cried out, saying, Crucify
him, crucify
him. Pilate
saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify
him: for I find
no fault in him.
39 But ye have a custom,
that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye
therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
Matt 27:15 Now at
that feast the
governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner,
whom they would.
Mark 15:6 Now at that
feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they
desired.
Luke 23:17 (For of necessity he must release one unto them
at the feast.)
40 Then cried they all
again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was
a robber.
Acts 3:14 But ye denied the
Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted
unto you;
Luke 23:19 (Who for a certain sedition made in the city,
and for murder, was cast into prison.)
